Italian Roots was founded by Carla Marcocci Ojha, who has a personal passion for helping others reconnect with their Italian roots. Raised in a close-knit family near Philadelphia with origins in Abruzzo and Lazio, Carla’s connection to Italy deepened in college while studying art history in Florence. This transformative experience led her to work in Bologna and Venice with the World Monuments Fund, where she fully embraced Italian culture, language, and traveled across Italy, visiting her ancestors’ towns.
Carla and her family are now dual Italian citizens, officially registered in Veroli, an ancient hilltop town east of Rome. Her experience with the dual citizenship process has given her unique insight into its challenges and rewards.
Today, Carla assists clients across the U.S., guiding them through the process of obtaining Italian dual citizenship. With expertise in genealogy, Italian history, language, and culture, Carla makes this journey accessible for each client, honoring their family stories and connecting them to their Italian heritage.
